Rehearse product information, checkout, packing and customer service before announcing a launch.

A store can look finished while still leaving a buyer unsure what they will receive. Before announcing a launch, run one complete rehearsal from product discovery to a packed parcel. The purpose is to catch missing information and broken handoffs while an error is still easy to fix.

Read the pages as a first-time buyer Choose one product and check it on a phone. Can you find the bottle volume, quantity, product type, price, stock status and delivery information without guessing? Make sure a set clearly states the number of bottles and their individual sizes. Independent products need their own accurate identity rather than an implication that the buyer is purchasing a referenced designer's original.

Inspect photographs and captions together. An illustrative image should not masquerade as the actual item being sold. Remove test reviews, placeholders and claims that have no supporting records. Click every policy and contact link from the product page, then check whether the cart presents the same product and quantity.

Rehearse the order without creating a real sale Use the payment provider's documented test mode where available. Test a normal purchase, an unavailable item and a quantity change. Do not submit a real charge merely to check the interface. Confirm that shipping charges and any applicable taxes are understandable before the final payment step, and that the confirmation identifies the order correctly.

Create a rehearsal parcel with the actual packaging you intend to use. Note the packed size, the materials used and the time required. Perfume transport can involve carrier restrictions; confirm the relevant product and service requirements with the carrier before offering them. A checkout option should reflect a service you can actually use.

Check the service handoff Write a short test enquiry about a damaged parcel and verify that it reaches the intended inbox. Decide who checks that inbox, which records help investigate, and how a buyer will receive an answer. Read the return policy for ambiguities about opened goods, return costs, the request window and the steps for reporting a wrong item. Do not invent terms simply to fill a page.

Use a four-column launch sheet: check, expected result, observed result and owner. Give unresolved items a next action rather than marking the whole store ready because most boxes are ticked. The FTC's shopping guidance highlights the information buyers look for, including total cost and return terms. A launch rehearsal turns those expectations into checks your own store can repeat.
